Michaels has released a collection called Memory Exploding Box. The collection is extensive and the colors are fun. I purchased the chipboard frames, celebration banner stickers, three of four available 6×6 paper pads: florals and polka dots, watercolors & specialty including colored acetate and glitter cardstock, and foiled patterned paper. I also purchases the photo corners, birthday die cuts, shapes and phrases die cuts, and travel die cuts.
I decided to use the birthday die cuts and some of the specialty paper to make a birthday card for a coworker. The card panel is some of the glitter specialty paper. I cut a piece of purple acetate from the specialty pad using the scalloped die from the Blueprints 27 set by MFT Stamps. I had to run the acetate through my machine several times to get it cut out and even then I had to kind of tear off the scrap piece as if I were pulling a perforated piece.
I pulled out the die cuts and arranged them how I wanted. I secured them with glue and then tried to glue the acetate to the glitter paper. Nope! I ended up running a single piece of Scor Tape down the center so it was mostly covered by the die cuts. To finish it off, I used crystals from my stash that I felt went with the color story of the card.
The Michaels collection includes stickers, washi tape, exploding boxes, and trim. I really like the collection and am considering buying the set again to keep in my Special Collections. One to play with and one to save.
Thank you for stopping by!
