July Stash Bash: A Dent Was Made

Same paper stack, completely different looks.

The July Stash Bash was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I pulled two paper pads, only one of which I was really excited about. I felt obligated to use the Cheeky Modern Pop paper so I could kill the pad, but I struggled with making it work. And as previously posted, I did not end up killing the pad. Creativity really took off for me when I switched to the Summer Fiesta pad and die cuts, and you can tell in the general tone of the cards I made.

Of the three above, I think my favorite is the pineapple card. I took a piece of patterned paper with a serape pattern on it and cut out the stripes, arranged them diagonally in somewhat rainbow order and stamped Yay as the sentiment. I don’t know why I like it so much, but there’s something really striking about it.

For all of these cards, I pulled in Avery Elle’s Banner Bits stamp set. This is another stamp set that gets a LOT of use from me. While the sentiments lean heavily toward celebration, they can be used for birthday cards, congratulations, and thanks. The banner in the set is relatively easy to fussy cut out, so I don’t have the die to cut it out, although there is one.

I usually make a big mess when I emboss sentiments, so I was pleased with how these came out relatively clean. One of the things I’m learning more about through the Stash Bash process is composition. I really think each of these cards came out looking incredibly good and I look forward to being able to give them out!

Thank you for joining me! Keep an eye for a post this weekend with the August Stash Bash goodies!
