Cheeky Modern Pop &
Summer Fiesta
You might have thought the July Stash Bash would be all patriotic, fireworks, red, white, and blue, and to be honest, I thought so, too. I went looking through my stash for the papers I thought I would use from one of the very first Simon Says Stamp card kits I got in 2016 or 2017. I decided not to go that route because 1. I don’t actually have a lot of that paper left and 2. I have a hard time making cards that are for very specific holidays, unless it’s Christmas. Even then I prefer my “holiday” cards be more wintery in theme.
So instead I chose two collections from Recollections in 2017, the Cheeky Modern Pop and the Summer Fiesta collections. As of right now, Michaels online only has the Cheeky Modern Pop icons paperclips and a lot of different Summer Fiesta washi tapes. Since not all Michaels are created equally, you can frequently find part of collections at one Michaels and other parts at other locations. I bought these when I happened to be in Gig Harbor, WA and bought what they had in stock; the paper pads for both collections, the ephemera for Summer Fiesta, and rub-ons and stickers for Cheeky Modern Pop (from hereon out referred to as CMP).
The CMP sticker sheets are all the same. There are 5 sheets, so 5 of each design for a total of 60 stickers. I have used some of the stickers and a lot of the paper, already. The CMP rub-ons have three sheets with no repeats, and I’ve used some of them, too. For Summer Fiesta, I’ve used hardly any of the paper and none of the ephemera. There are gold accents on some of the sheets of paper and on the ephemera pieces, too. There are 8 ephemera designs with three of each design for a total of 24 pieces.

More card bases
Sequins for days.
I decided to pull in some card bases I have that aren’t the best quality, but the colors match pretty well with both paper collections. I also pulled in some sequins to use as embellishments. Chances are good I’ll use other sequins in my collection, if only to really highlight the gold accents in the Summer Fiesta paper pad.
For these stash bashes, I like the idea of making cards that come together quickly, so I tend not to pull stamps for them. I might pull a stamp set to use if it looks like the sentiments I have in the stickers or paper pads don’t really work, but for the most part I’m going to try to stick to what’s in my “kit”.
You’ll start seeing some cards soon! Let me know if you have either of these collections and how you used them!
