If at first you don’t succeed…

…keep making it until you do.

I love how this card finally came out. Yes, finally. I made two versions of it before getting it right in this form. The first two were…not great but I was finally able to see a way forward with this last design.

The final design used Moda Scrap Spring Flowers 6×6 paper, Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy stamp set (as noted previously, this is my most used stamp set), Tonic Essentials Scalloped Circle dies (seemingly discontinued, see similar product here), Altenew Bright Blossoms stamp and die bundle, Cool Summer Night Mini Ink Cube set, and Green Valley Mini Ink Cube set. I didn’t like the idea of having a stark white circle on the card front, so I took Distress Texture Paste in the matte finish, added a little bit of Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass, and spread it on the top right and bottom left of the circle using a Prima Marketing stencil.

You may have noticed (and if you didn’t, why am I calling attention to it) that the stenciled area seems to have a little bit of a gray cast to it. That’s because my stencil is covered in Art C silver Wax Paste. It’s made of real beeswax, which is water resistant and so does not clean off stencils very well.

I finished off with some embellishments using Nuvo Stone Drops in Boulder Gray.

Can it be reformed?

What became beautiful did not start out as such. I wanted to try using alcohol inks, alcohol lift ink, and the dies for the Bright Blossoms set. The photo above represents how well that went over. I wish it were salvageable but I don’t think it is. I am okay with setting it free and not worrying about “wasted” supplies. It’s never a waste to learn something. What I learned is how those leaves actually go with the flowers. Also, that I lost one of the leaf dies.

I tried something and it didn’t work out and I tried something else that didn’t work out, but I ended up with something I really like and was able to give to my friend with no worries of how she would like it. Win!

Coming up, another photo album project and then I reveal the July Stash Bash! Thank you for joining me! See you soon!
