These are some really cute cards, I have to admit. I finished three of them over the last two days and despite being really sick of looking at the red paper with white hearts, I feel like I did my materials justice. The first two cards I made were the Congrats and Celebrate cards in the top row. I plan on putting a coffee gift card in the congrats one using Lawn Fawn’s Lift the Flap die set.
For the Celebrate card next to it, well…I had lost some of the rub-on sentiments I wanted to use up in May and as I moving things around on my desk, I found one! It was the Happy Birthday sentiment and was perfect for that card, so I glued it on the inside.

Celebrate with cake, because…
…it’s your birthday!
I did end up using stamps for two of the cards; the Hi card in the top row features a sentiment from the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout stamp (linked below) and the coffee-themed Happy Birthday card in the bottom row uses the Cool Beans stamp set by Avery Elle (also linked below). I’ll probably use the Lift the Flap die on that one, too, so I can tuck a coffee card inside. I did do some highlighting and shading on the Happy Birthday card with some Faber Castell watercolor pencils, although I didn’t use them as a watercolor medium. I also pulled in some Recollections trim I’ve had forever. It’s very close to this Michaels product, but wound up on card. Some of the pieces in that bundle are very similar to pieces I have. I also used a Marvey Uchida flower punch to punch out the tiny flowers from a scrap of the coffee bean patterned paper. They turned out really cute!

I really wanted to use those last few scraps, so I dug through my card stock, brought out a piece of dark pink paper from a Michaels pack called Pink Buttons and trimmed out a 4″x5.25″ card panel. The Avery Elle Cool Beans stamp set has several small hearts in it, so I arranged them on a stamp block, pulled out the Alte New ink set in Red Cosmos and selected Coral Berry to do some tone on tone stamping. I cut some of the scraps into banners and stamped the sentiment Smile from the Concorde & 9th Dahlia Turnabout stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I glued the entire thing onto a precut, pre-scored card base and voila! I used every piece of usable scrap.

And that, gentle readers, is the end of the June Stash Bash. I finished up a week and a half early, so I’ll spend some time next week coming up with a theme for July and pulling the stuff I need for it. Feel free to comment and make some suggestions. I’m open to hearing your thoughts!
