Washi Tape Wishes

This isn’t even half of the washi tape I own.

I currently have a pile of washi tape sitting next to my laptop. On the ground next to my chair is a wooden washi tape storage thing that’s full. I have a little roll cart with several drawers that I bought from Michaels and in a couple of those drawers, there are a number of rolls of washi tape. In other words, I have a lot of washi tape. I am constantly trying to find ways to use it in my card making.

I pulled the yellow chevron tape and the narrow blue patterned tape at the front of the photo at the top of this post and decided to make a focal point for a random card. I did two diagonal rows of the blue tape and one diagonal row of the yellow all the way across the card panel. I cut the panel into four pieces and then trimmed tehm down to 1 3/4″ by 2 3/8″ leaving a small gap between each rectangle. I added thin foam tape to the back to give a little bit of dimension and added them to MFT Jellybean card stock trimmed down to 4″x5.25″.

One more thank you card.

I pulled out my trusted Avery Elle Many Thanks stamp set (discontinued) and used a stamp block and some Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiment. I trusted myself with the stamp block and it turned out great! I had already cut down the rectangle to match the size of the others, so I added foam tape to the back and added it to the card stock. I then took some Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops to add some accents.

The hardest part of this card was cutting everything down so that it was relatively even, maintained the pattern, and still left a border of green around it. Everything I used was literally within arms reach of me at my desk. New mission: try to incorporate washi into more cards.

Thank you for reading and I’ll see you soon!
