Thank you for joining me on the last of my May Stash Bash journey. I learned a lot from this experiment, not the least of which was that I should be more focused and more forgiving when working on these projects.
When I originally pulled out the rub-on sentiments and realized there were pieces that were meant to be used on dark card stock, I tried to force them to work with brighter paper and those are the cards I like least (see Stash Bash Part 3 to see cards I made). When I decided to use up the sentiments, I realized I needed to pull out a paper stack with black accents and black backgrounds to tie the black sentiments to the card overall. I used The Paper Studio Mint to be Fab 4.5″x6.5″ paper stack. These papers are so fun. There are flamingos, pineapples, geometric shapes, gold foiling, mint, black, a peachy pink color, and just a lot to choose from. I’ve had this pad since probably when it came out in 2015 and I’ve barely used it, so I was happy to take advantage of the many colors and designs for this project.
I also pulled in washi tape. I have a lot in a variety of colors, many of which compliment the colors in the paper pad. The Mint to be Fab paper is landscape oriented, so all my cards are landscape. That may have added to the mental fatigue I started to get toward the end. I definitely feel I was more creative in the beginning than when I was running low on sentiments and just wanted to be done.

The three in the photo above are my favorites. It’s no coincidence they’re also the ones I used washi tape on and, on the Thank You card, I added sequins that went very well with the color scheme. I really like the floral washi tape on the geometric pattern of the Best Wishes card, and the way I offset the paper and had the washi coming in from both sides on the Get Well card. The downside is that I made a total of 12 cards and only really love three.
I’d be lying if I said I used all the remaining white sentiments from the rub-ons. The truth is…I lost a few. They were sitting on my desk in from of me and then they weren’t and I wasn’t that bothered. I feel like I did get a lot out of supplies that were languishing and that I will use the projects I made. I’d much rather have a card on hand that I don’t adore if it means I can tell a friend or family member I’m thinking of them than to worry about a card being perfect and not sharing my love.
Finally, I’ve already picked out the things I want to use in June. It will include the white sentiments because they will go really well with the color scheme of the papers I’m going to use. I also pulled in some stamps I might use and there’s a sneak peak of a couple of things I definitely plan on at least using some of below.
Thanks for you joining me! See you soon!
