Stash Bash Part 2: 5 Quick Cards

5 Quick Cards

I sat down last night thinking I would get started on my projects and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly these cards came together. I ended up using ALL of the Amy Tangerine rubber words, 5 out 10 of the Well, Hello papers, although I do have scraps left, and some of the Project Life Cards. I also busted out some of the adhesive borders from K&Company. I have been cutting down white card stock I bought for card bases but was a little too flimsy for that. Turns out it’s the perfect weight for card fronts. So I built all my designs on that paper.

All card fronts are trimmed down to 4″ x 5.25″ to leave a small border around them.

  • Hello card – This is the second card I made and uses a cactus patterned paper. I took one of the adhesive borders and fashioned a sort of frame out of it. I layered the patterned paper over the frame because I only wanted it to peak out. I put the “hello” sentiment on it. I feel like it needs a little something else. Maybe some sequins or something.
  • Sweet card. This one was the first one I made and was so easy. I pulled out one of the Project Life cards with the ice cream cone on it and knew it would be perfect. I used a light blue striped pattern paper to offset the bright colors of the Project Life card. This one will definitely get some enamel dots or Nuvo Crystal Drops to finish it off.
  • Special card. This was the last card I made. The patterned paper is red with pink dots. I had originally intended to use the flip side of the Project Life card, which has a white grid pattern with a red polka-dotted border, but I didn’t think you’d be able to see the sentiment on the white background, so I thought about using the rainbow stripes. I thought it might clash with the patterned paper, but went for it. I like it. It’s cute and the bright colors make it cheerful.
  • Happy card. This is the fourth card I made and it might be my favorite. I love the flowered patterned paper and the green Project Life card was perfect for the tone of the other colors in the card. To me, the whole story of the card comes together. The paper is happy, the sentiment is happy, this card makes me happy.
  • Lovely card. This is the third card I made. I like the many different patterns all coming together. The rainbow chevron is another Project Life card. The yellow plaid is from the Well, Hello paper pad, and the red polka dot is an adhesive border. It kind of clashes, but weirdly works, too.

I think these make a good group of any occasion cards or quick thank yous when I might need them. I still have paper to use to kill this pad and while I did use all the Light Blue card bases, I still have 4 Lime Green and many Green Parrot. Next I’ll be using the rub-on sentiments to finish those off and maybe, just maybe, I’ll have to pull in some other paper because I’ll have used all the Well, Hello!

Thank you for joining me on this fun journey!
