What I Did

First things first, I stamped the roses and leaves and fussy cut them out. The stamp set is from the early years of layering stamps and some of the leaf stamps are hard to figure out which outline stamp belongs to which solid leaf stamp, but I figured it out. I wanted them to stamp “perfectly” lined up, but realized it looks really cool with them not exactly together.

I then cut down a piece of 12×12 paper from the Recollections Farmers Market paper stack and ran it through my Sizzix with a scalloped stitched border die. I did distress the edges of the pattern paper with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I cut down a piece of Kraft card stock to standard A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″) and attached the pattern paper to it. I glued two of the roses directly to the card front. The last rose I popped up using some scraps of fun foam I had from another project.

I stamped happy in Jet Black ink and then Mother’s Day in Forest Glades from the Green Fields ink set. I cut it out and fishtailed the one end. I popped that up with fun foam scraps, too. I glued down the “happy” using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, which has become my favorite glue.

I glued the card front to a card base I made from a mint green 110 lb card stock from my stash. I’m currently undecided on embellishments. I like the simpleness of the current card, but I think it would look good with some Nuvo Jewel Drops. I have a few days before it will be given to its recipient, so I can decide then.

Thank you for joining me! More cards and creativity to come!
